Recently I posted elsewhere about Yubnub, a social command line for the web. Anyone can create commands, and I took the opportunity to create a vanity command. From the Yubnub command line, type spinuzzi string to search my reading list website.
The really interesting thing about these social tools (like Yubnub, Flickr, del.icio.us, and so forth) is that they replace the centralized portals that ascended during the late 1990s. Yubnub in particular provides a customized interface that "pipelines" content from one place to another. RSS is another example. Apps like these make me think of Zuboff and Maxmin's The Support Economy, where they argue that information technologies distribute control over production and consumption as well as ownership.
